THE BrandLaureate would like to record our deepest
condolences and sympathies to the family of the late Tan Sri Datuk Dr Ng Teck
Fong, executive chairman and founder of
Tomei Consolidated Bhd who passed away at the age of 84 on Sunday (March 21,
2021).
Dr Ng served as the executive chairman at one of the
country's largest listed jewelers Tomei Consolidated Bhd, since April 21,2006.
He was instrumental in the growth and development of the company and oversaw
the overall strategic business direction of the company.
He was the lifetime honorary president and adviser of the
Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong).
In 2013, Dr Ng received the Lifetime Achievement Award by Sin
Chew in recognition of his extensive contribution to the business and society. In
2016, Ng won an award for his work on an encyclopedia entitled "A Journey
Through History: The Chinese and Nation-Building in Malaysia.”
The late Dr Ng was guided by the principle of giving back to
the community and was known as a good leader who was very compassionate, and
always ready to assist whenever he could. He was also well known for his
generosity and was a respected senior leader and a friend who led by example.
