BRANDING TIP #11: Benefits of a Name Change.

If you are thinking about growing your brand, it starts by perfecting your Brand name. The question is, “How do you know that your Brand name is the right one for now, or will you change it in the future?”

As a general rule, it is better to work with existing names because naming can be a tough soul-searching exercise.

Many business owners may not be thinking of  going global when they first started. However, it makes sense to have an IP lawyer to ensure that your brand name and copyright is well protected, so that it can save you much more money and hassles in the future.

On the other hand, a name change can be beneficial to help you reconnect with your existing and prospective clients, suppliers and partners; and everything that your business stands for.

It creates an opportunity to communicate with them multiple times through literature, branded materials, and by inviting them to events – without the need of having a sales message.

So, the bottom line is a name change could and should strengthen relationships and in turn, boost business – more so than just a new logo or website.
